Long time Jake users, Lenzie Golf Club became an ‘instant’ customer when Fairways GM took on the Ransomes Jacobsen dealership in Scotland twenty years ago.
Lenzie’s course manager, Gordon Rigby, who has been with the East Dunbartonshire club over 30 years, has been a client of both the sales and service department ever since.
This summer, Gordon and his team of four took delivery of a Jacobsen Eclipse 360 ELiTE greens mower. The all-electric ELiTE eliminates the need for hydraulics, has an unparalleled range and offers the highest quality of cut.
“Until now, we have never had the luxury of a dedicated greens mower; the ELiTE exclusively for the greens makes us instantly more efficient,” he said.
“Previously our Jacobsen GP400 doubled on the greens then was out for another run later for the tees and collars. It meant every time we cut the greens, we had to go back to base and change the units and the heights for the collars, then the tees.
“Now we can do two jobs simultaneously. Someone can be on the greens while someone else is on the collars and tees with the GP400. We get the job finished much quicker.
Having the super quiet lithium battery also means that the course cutting can begin at 06.30 am when the team are working on the holes adjacent to residential properties.
“We’re loving the environmental benefits, too,” continued Gordon. “Noise reduction on the new machine is great, we can be out first thing cutting greens without worrying about waking people and the quality of cut is top class."
Fairways GM’s, Area Sales Manager, Stuart Cameron delivered and installed the new machine to (l-r) Gordon Rigby, course manager, Chris Locke, deputy course manager and Campbell Osbourne, greenkeeper.
