The arrival of an ISEKI TG 6687 tractor to Milngavie Golf Club has been welcomed enthusiastically by Head Greenkeeper, Neil Middleton, and his team of four.
“Getting a big purchase over the line always takes a little longer than you think,” said Head Greenkeeper, Neil Middleton, who himself celebrates 25 years at the East Dunbartonshire club this year.
“We considered and priced others, but the ISEKI was entirely the right choice. We’re out three or four days a week with our Wessex CRX 320 cutting rough, so while we needed a compact to get around the golf course, we also wanted horsepower. The TG 6687 with 66 hp is the biggest in the range so we’ve deliberately futureproofed, should we seek additional implements. Hydrostatic transmission was also important. The difference between what we had is night and day.”
The ISEKI was supplied by dealer Fairways GM at Renfrew, with Rob Hogarth and Stuart Cameron involved with sales support and installation.
“It really pleased me the tractor sale went to Fairways GM,” continued Neil.
“We have an existing service contract already, but this keeps the continuation, not least because their mobile service engineers are first class. Across many seasons, Stuart Mulholland and Willie Ronald from Fairways have provided a rapid quality response. Having good people, brings peace of mind.
“You should always recognise the effort people make, especially in all weathers. Our own team of Deputy Head Greenkeeper, Robert Wards and Assistant Greenkeepers Douglas Keith, Heather Zillich, and Alasdair Barlow work enormously well together, sharing knowledge and tackling tasks head on.
