Perth racecourse is the UK’s most northerly track and is found next to the historic Scone Palace, where Macbeth and Robert the Bruce were crowned.
Home to National Hunt jump racing, Perth has a huge reputation for quality race days all delivered with a friendly convivial atmosphere.
Its new season launches on April 26-28, 2023, with the extremely popular three-day Perth Festival.
Head of Grounds, Donald Gow, is ahead of the game with preparations for next year. The purchase of a Jacobsen HR 600, large rotary mower from dealer Fairways GM at Kinross means he is ready and waiting.
“It’s amazing that grass is still growing as much in November. This machine is all about next year and will make such a difference for us, come the spring. We know it will cover the ground fast and do a clean, tidy job,” said Donald Gow.
The HR 600 is ideal for large spaces as its high strength, light steel decks expand to 3.5 metres. It is equipped with a 65 hp Kubota engine and in just one hour travelling at 10 mph can cover 5.6 hectares.
Mike Lindsay from Fairways GM’s installed the machine.
