Productive Pro-Cast 5 helps prepare Glasgow’s Winter Gardens for the summer ahead

This iconic Pro-Cast 5, the super-size bulk top dresser, has been carrying out sand spreading duties at the Winter Gardens of the People’s Palace, Glasgow.

Distinct, both because of its bold green and blue colourway, and because of its smart engineering, the PC 5 is the biggest of the Pro-Cast fleet, storing a hefty 4750 litres of material in its 3 mm welded steel hopper.

Powerful twin spinners achieve a spread of up to 16m at 2m³ per minute even when distributing wet material. Enhanced profile discs and a single aperture gate allow free flowing material and a consistent spread pattern. A stainless-steel rear delivery system optimises the spreading function while its spin deck offers the latest hydraulic action with infinite adjustment for speed.

Smaller versions of the Pro- Cast, - the PC 2, PC 3 and PC 4  have capacities ranging from 2,000 to 3,5000 litres, the bigger units in particular offer excellent productivity and efficiency, saving on journeys back and from base and refilling time. An all-welded box section chassis and vulcanised conveyor belt means trouble free operation and require minimal maintenance.

An adjustable hitch height fits a variety of manufacturers’ tractors from 40-70 hp. Ideal for parks, playing fields, golf fairways it is a versatile top dresser aimed at clubs, contractors and local authorities.

Despite its size and robust build quality, the trailed top dresser is nimble. Its lightweight design minimises ground compaction, working effectively without damaging turf, the flotation tyres respectful of the ground they tread. With safety a key feature, all Pro-Cast machines have a wide axle track, and low profile design.  A low centre of gravity increases stability on undulating ground.
